MixMods - possibly the best source of mods for the 3D era GTAs and Need for Speeds Underground to Carbon. Also has guides for running/modding (including on Linux), and the only place I've found a working version of the GTA: Alien City (Anderius) mod

Raph Koster's website - lots of articles and info about worldbuilding, game development, and the challenges of persistent virtual worlds, from the lead designer of Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies.

Net Cafe (via internet archive) - old informative TV show about the early internet boom, ran from 1996-2002.
