I got my first N64 for my birthday in 1998 I think. It was some bundle deal from Kmart that came with a grey controller, transparent purple controller, Super Mario 64, and Goldeneye 64. Played it a tonne, even after getting an original Xbox about 5 years later. I also remember inheriting a bunch of games and an official (?) cartridge tower stand from a cousin (looks like this, both sides can hold cartidges). For some reason I decided to sell it all around 2006 (probably for money to buy Xbox games). First time I sold anything on eBay, it wen't okay.

Then, around 2015 I had solid full time work and decided to buy one second hand again. Got one with a bunch of random games, and slowly collected more that I fondly remembered from childhood. Some games I loved were too expensive though, I think smash bros was like $100-150 at the time. Eventually I got over it again, feel like I kinda played out all the games I was interested in.

In 2020 I started playing online with a friend via the Project 64 emulator and it's netplay plugin, it got us chatting about our favourite N64 games. He was really into WWF No Mercy, we played that a fair bit online, but it would desynch a lot so we couldn't complete a campaign. He mentioned the physical cartridge shipped with some default where save games get corrupted, but there might be some versions functional with PAL. I decided to give my N64+games to him indefinitely as I wasn't really using it anymore, and he could get a chance to try out fixing No Mercy :)

Had a recent chat with him when I asked him to send me the photo above, sadly reporting the console is dead at the moment. A place he lived in had bad circuitry/wiring and shorted out some electronics, he may try and get another power supply to see if that works though.
