PlayStation 4
Slim edition
Current Status: Working fine, indefinitely borrowed from a friend :)
Personal History
I have no previous history with this, or any PlayStation console, outside of playing other people's ones. Was considering trading in my old Xbox One S (digital) for a PlayStation 4, figuring it might be a better option; having both a Blu-ray player and greater availability/cheaper prices of second hand game discs. Mentioned this to my friend and he offered me his old PS4 Slim!
At some point he had replaced the stock harddrive with an SSD. He also installed all the old 3D era GTA games and instructed me not to wipe the console, as you can't download the normal versions of these anymore (only the 'definitive' editions). Gave me a few disc and other preinstalled games on the drive too :)
Likes/Dislikes
It seems to run well, although the inbuilt browser is unusably slow. It's a bit of an adjustment getting used to the mostly unchangeable UI, and how picky it is regarding correct shutdown procedure. It also doesn't properly support certain video file types and has no native VLC app (my solution on Xbox), and the controller is a bit annoying to keep charged (would prefer replaceable batteries).
