Personal History

I bought this in 2020 with money from some covid or pension related lump sum, I forgor which. A friend who I hadn't seen much for a few years recommended it, saying he was regularly playing some games with other friends. Through this machine I became closer with a few friends, and made some all timer new ones playing online. Also got into DayZ, Minecraft, GTA Online, Sea of Thieves, and plenty of other games.

I got the digital version cause it was $50 cheaper and I "didn't care about discs". I would have saved much much more than $50 over the years getting one with a disc drive and second hand games. If you don't pay for game pass/xbox live, this thing is essentially a paperweight, or weirdly bad TV box with issues playing video at times.

Likes/Dislikes

Honestly, apart from the good times I had with it, there isn't much I like about this thing. Game Pass WAS good around 2020ish when they were giving it away for like $1 per month, but it just got more expensive and splintered into tiers over time. Plus, when will you get a chance or even the desire to play more than like five of "400+ games!!!". The console was struggling with online games by 2023, huge framerate and connection issues, and since securing a replacement TV box in a PS4 loaned from a friend (and maybe my micro optiplex), I had no need to keep this thing around so I traded it in.
