GNU/Linux & FOSS

Hi, I have been using Linux since around August 2024, so I am pretty new to it all. I figured writing about it as a beginner might be helpful to others that are considering switching, or are forced to switch by a lack of Windows 11 hardware support. Naturally with Linux comes the increased interest in, and use of, FOSS apps and sites, so any posts about these subjects will be linked at the bottom of this page :)

I am fairly rooted in the Debian/Ubuntu derivative camp, they just seem to have the most support, both in relation to hardware/software integration, and userbase troubleshooting posts online. They do the jobs I want perfectly fine, and I have no need to move on to more 'cutting edge' stuff. I am also ethically aligned with the more community driven, non-corporate distros like Mint, antiX/MX, and Debian

See my Desktops & Distros page for all the desktop environments and distros I use, have used, or tested!

Also, my '32-bit Support Report' page has resources on operating systems, distros, and browsers that still provide support for 32-bit/x86 computers (most of which are GNU/Linux based or otherwise FOSS).
